Not trying to push anybody away but for the mulie tags out west 3 pts ain't gonna cut it. Took me 6-7 don't exactly remember. It's not an easy wait to draw a tag. If I didn't hunt other states Im not sure I could wait that long! Second I see so many guys go out there who have never been before and don't have a clue where to start. I bowhunt out there every year so I have a good idea where to start come rifle season and actually 2 of the 3 bucks we killed we had watched during archery season. Another thing... Be in shape! we covered almost 60 miles in 6 days on foot. And average pack out was 3 miles. Now I see guys who kill from the road but those caliber of deer are usually average or less. I will say it is an awesome hunt and you work for what you get. But don't go thinking there are 200" deer around every bend! I have spent a ton of time out there and honestly the largest deer I've seen was a 190-200". I guess what I am saying is it is rewarding but very hard to stay patient enough to actually draw the tag!
