Do away with all landowner tags. Landowners do not own the critters. Yes i could receive a gratis tag for multiple species....i choose not to. Carry on "landowner"Give it a rest already you cry babies about gratis tags. My gosh!!! Go buy some fucking land and get your own gratis tag.
Wouldn't that be more of a USDA thing? Why is NDGF not required to make available to the public of what depredation payments are made and to whom? Its our dollars that are getting handed out. Curiosity . .
GNF depredation payments have nothing to do with the USDA.Wouldn't that be more of a USDA thing?
My Grandfather dealt straight with Game&FishWouldn't that be more of a USDA thing?
Can you expand on the not-so-positive sentiment? Toughest unit to gain access, herd populations, quality, etc??Hope you have access lined up probably the toughest antelope unit in the state . You probably do , and congrats hope you get a big one .
Don't worry he probably owns land then gripes how drs and lawyers buy land for hunting and frive up land pricesYeah lets only allow landowners to hunt anymore. That'll help the hunting heritage a ton!![]()
97% private land. Less land grass side up every year. Every category of game population trending down (except maybe elk). Yes.I have a general question - I don't have many points for Pronghorn (3) nor do I have too many for deer (2) but is ND becoming a gratis-only hunting state? Obviously I'm not as fortunate as Skeeter to just "Go out and buy some land" whenever or wherever I want, so am I out of luck for a long time?
That argument has been used out west and shot down as you can go on the land any time. The state holds the animals in trust. It’s like Wyoming where Nr can’t hunt wilderness areas with a guide or resident. It’s been challenged in court and lost every time.Public land is owned by the public therefore as a US citizen I have ownership in all public land and should be able to receive a gratis tag for public land.
The Land belongs to the people, not the Government
Another reason the gratis tag should be eliminated. The "I raise them and feed them all year so I should get a tag" is no longer relevant as evidenced by the declining numbers!97% private land. Nobody cares!! It’s already that way!!Yes, take away all gratis tags. Make it a "one tag only" system for deer.
THEN, when you do go knock on that landowners door to ask permission to hunt their land, please record that conversation and let us all hear it. I look forward to the landowners response. Also, be sure to tell them how in favor of getting rid of the gratis tags you were. It should really help everyone's cause on getting onto private land.
Haven't hunted private land in years. Hell I haven't had a tag in years!Yes, take away all gratis tags. Make it a "one tag only" system for deer.

There used to be a small elk herd south of Pick City. The landowners tolerated the bulls getting tangled into the swing set, eating with the cattle at the feed bunks and knocking over corn. To a point.Another reason the gratis tag should be eliminated. The "I raise them and feed them all year so I should get a tag" is no longer relevant as evidenced by the declining numbers!
Zone E5 wasn't created until years later.Did they allow hunters?
