I don’t hate farmers one bit.

Why do farmers feel an even playing field is hateful?

Ya. There’s no farmer hate on this place. I’m so sorry. I must have been imagining things for the last ten years.

Not all farmers are in the same group as welfare queens, many farmers are good honest working members of their communities. The top 1 percent are the ones who, again like any other group are the ones who give all the other farmers a bad name. I know this personally being that im related to relatives who have a bad reputation back home and since im related to them im in the same category. I dont judge farmers harshly as much as I did 10 years ago because like it or not they still provide a valuable resource to our country. What I have learned about other groups of people, like politicians who have been wasting our tax dollars by getting kick back for doing absolutely nothing is where my focus is.

property tax is about being equitable,, when farmers pay nothing, we all pay more. Again, iam not against farmers,, iam against occupational exemptions.. I would be saying the same thing if it was teachers getting exemptions on their houses or blue collar commercial buildings not paying taxes.

I voted to eliminate property tax. That would have leveled the field. Why does even mean raising someone else’s tax burden instead of lowering the other.
This 👆🏻 why take a shit on someone else to make your shit less shitty… a novel idea 💡 instead of taxing the piss out of farmers to make it equitable why don’t we stop taxing the shit out of everyone else to a breaking point and bring taxes down for the rest of us to make it equitable and stop the wreckless spending, corruption and expansion of government?

So why didn’t everyone vote to eliminate property tax. That would have made it even.

My guess is most farmers didn’t vote on it. Thats a GUESS!! It doesn’t affect them so they don’t care. That’s the way I vote. If I don’t care either way, it has no bearing on me personally or I don’t like either candidate ect ect. I don’t vote on it.

I’ve been on the soil conservation board. I served on the school board. I’ve seen stupid govt spending first hand. Instead of being pissed at each other for not paying enough taxes, maybe we should be upset with the politicians who spend too much of our money.

It's absolutely a spending problem but if we are going to have taxes it should be the same for everyone. Just because you farm doesn't mean you shouldn't be paying the same taxes on your home as everyone else. Why should a farmers home and buildings be exempt?

No idea. I didn’t write the tax law. Maybe you have to take that up with the legislature.
