Regrets a few

Found out today that my best friend from college passed away last month. When you leave college and go separate ways (50 years ago) the first years we always talked and would see each other every few years then it gets fewer and farther apart. The last few years I thought about calling or even going to see him, but didn't. I only have myself to blame.

So to any of you old coots take the time to reach out and contact or better yet go see those old friends that meant alot to you and you made the good memories with. This is regret that will bother me for a long time.

Yeah, I got the news a couple months ago that a fella I did a couple years in the Corps with over in Japan passed away. I hadn't talked to him in 20+ years, and had only briefly messaged with him over Facebook a few times a couple years ago. Nonetheless, he was only in his late 40s and it gave me pause to reflect on life.

Zog I have a number of regrets like that. It appears that at our age friends are starting to drop all around us. I had a friend with bone cancer who's doctor's said would die in 2015 but didn't pass away until this winter. He loved to shoot and we went out to his farm for a day in September. We talked reloading on the phone, but I wanted to take him out for a day this winter. My knees were to painful to walk and I never seen him since September. See you later my old friends.

You know when your getting older when you start keeping track. Have lost 7 out of 50 of high school grad class of 1966.

Some of my best friends now I see maybe two-three times a year just because we all have young kids and jobs and suddenly even going out for a beer takes an act of god to arrange. At least once a summer and a couple times each falls we join up to fish or hunt. I wish I could see them more, but it's nice to know that you can go months without hearing or seeing them, and when you do there's no awkward silence. No odd feeling.

Those are the best friends a guy could ask for.

All school reunion next year in Bemidji for me....contacted my old boss at the golden arches from a million years ago..he said he will line up a Mickey D's reunion for those of us from a million years ago who want to get together. I am more pumped at seeing my fellow workers from a million years ago than the high school reunion!! Damn we had fun..both at work and outside of work

Trying having lived in 2 other states and gone to two different high schools and wonder how everyone is doing after 30 yrs? Social media/Technology is not all bad, that is how I got back in contact with alot of my old neighborhood friends from back in the 70's-80's

Have lost 3 good and longtime friends in the last year so during this extended spring I used google and reached out to some people from my past. Found obits for several but also found 4 liberals who actually voted for Hillary in the last election and one who just loves Kameltoe Harris. What a disappointment, I was content with not knowing, now it bugs the shit out of me.
