I was around when the was only one choice, Crosshair. Then came the Duplex or Dualx as some called it. My most resent reticle is the Leupold LR (long range) Duplex. Which I really like.

I know that there are a lot of choices out there. What is your preference and what type of shooting do you use it for?

I prefer simple. I don't like a bunch of extra lines in my sight, but that being said I don't get into the long range shooting where those could be beneficial.

I'm really liking the vx6 Leupold with the firedot duplex reticle and cds dial system. Just a simple hunting setup.
With this 6.5-300 zeroed at 300 it takes out most of the guess work 0-500 yds pretty much, just point and shoot.:;:thumbsup

Since I generally dial both elevation and wind, I don't need a full "christmas tree" style reticle, but one with 1 MOA hash marks in both directions is nice when shooting steel at distance to measure POI vs POA and make corrections.

MOA or MIL dots with matching turrets. I do have a half dozen or so scopes with Mildot reticles and MOA turrets but that's just because I'm set in my ways. For the most part go with matching, it makes life easier.

I use them for all types of hunting and shooting.

Nightforce IHR w/corresponding MOA dials. I wish the Nightforce MOAR was 2MOA sub tensions instead of 1MOA, it gets a little busy @ 10X. 20X and higher the 1MOA is fine.

Front Focal, MOA or Mil elevation and windage hashes, matching turrets. Hunting and target shooting.

I have no experience with busy "Christmas Tree" reticles. May try one in between what is described above, and a full blown Horus (busy tree) at some point just to see. I do a combo of dialing and holding, depending on the situation.

ffp xlr . it would be a full christmas tree and after using it a decade it is second nature if i am holding over. But unless its a coyote running or forced to hold over due to station being shot I am a dial elevation hold wind guy

I'm a simpleton. Max point blank zero and German #1 reticle.

If I were to scope a levergun I'd get a used Leupold pistol scope and have it installed.

Pretty much all of this. I really like the Vortex Razor LHT HSR-5i reticle with 2 MOA subtensions and fine center dot. Seems to work well in the field and on the range.
