I had 1 single robin that stuck around till mid january, every day was eating old dried up grapes off my vines, then one day it disappeared, maybe ran out of food or got smart enough to fly south or somethingI’ve had a huge flock in the shelter belt behind the shop all winter. First winter ever. Or at least the first time I’ve noticed.
BTW: They're not a true robin. They're a thrush:I opened this thread looking for recipes. . .
Did she flash you LB?...Saw my first one today. Hope he has a warm place to hide come Saturday. LB
Same. It was time for a whoopin' if dad caught me shooting robins or barn swallows. I also remember discovering purple martins are NOT blackbirds.......I was just talking with the old man last week about this exact same topic. I bet I've had 6-12 here all winter, never seen anything like it before with Robins...It's getting to the point almost where there are too many though...We shot many birds on the farm back in the day but dad always said Robins and Barn Swallows are off limits...Old German I guess...
