Me too and have put enough funds away to buy one in 300 Weatherby. Guy with license is looking. Wanted an 1885 Winchester but little selection in calibers. Hope to put one of those old fashion scope on and look for a buffalo at 1000 yards. Prefer one with the fancy stock but the 300 comes first.
Just like the mountain men of old. db
SVNMAG:
I hope it does for me and i was of the impression it was accurate.
And when done i will have more than $2,000 into it. Will it be worth it?
Not sure if any of the guns i have are worth it when well over half i have never shot but do have bullets for all with some hard to find including my 219 zipper Marlin 335. db
A Ruger #1 is but a barrel-swap away from being whatever you want it to be. No worry about bolt-face mating, just have it chambered to your whim.
FWIW, Lilja has the specs to replicate the factory contour so you don’t have to muck about w/the fore end. Order the bbl in SS and have it finished in gloss ceracoat.
I missed one about 25 years ago. Slight used, still pristine. 25-06 with a 24" barrel. Also very affordable. If possible I would still like to kick my ASS.
Got one moons ago called Ruger mannlicker stock 300 win mag. Thought it was kinda ugly back in my teen years. Sitting in Gun Vault making money think I paid $400? new? Also have the twin Ruger No 1 in regular stock version 300 win mag what tack driver one shot make it count. Haven't laid eyes on it in 30 years I bet. Good Memories. Damn kids will be rich as yell when I die.
