What's everyone seeing for rut activity? Seemed like most of the bigger bucks were locked down with does last weekend. Hoping some of the late estrus does hang around my treestand this weekend.

I've seen 5 130's-150's class bucks at 9am or later in the last 3 days. Watched a real nice 5X5 chase 2 does about 150 yards off the road in an unposted corn stubble field for 15 minutes two days ago. Dumber than a box of dirt!! Lots of other bucks out looking during daylight hours as well.

I only hunted a few hours opening weekend, and the bucks were still grouped up out west. This is almost 2 1/2 weeks ago now.

bucks have been chasing hard for a couple of weeks in the eastern part of the state.

Mule deer were rutting hard on Friday and Saturday this last weekend. Whitetails seemed pretty locked down.

Estrus rules all. I don't think there's any way to possibly know from one day to the next. If the smell is in the air from even one doe, there be bucks chasin.

Saw four or five bucks yesterday in the middle of the day chasing does. In the rut big time right now.

Do muleys typically do the lock down thing? Ive seen an old heavy 3x3 hump 3 does in an hour period. No lock down mode there lol
