Should we mention the “affiliate sportsman groups” that were lumped into the opposition’s testimony?……. Wonder how many members of some of these small town clubs know they are being used to push this narrative?
Or how many small town clubs know they got lumped into “affiliate sportsman group” without their knowledge or approval.

This has been another sort of confusing thing for us. I think 90% of the time I’m not being snobby or condescending. Sure sometimes I laugh or make a smart ass comment, but I mean…given the arguments you and others have presented I don’t think that’s unreasonable. I try to remain light hearted about it…even when some of you are “hoping I perish”😂 or “that were anti-hunting” or that were “lying”, or getting paid for this or the dozens of other accusations you guys like to make on FB.

And considering what you guys post on our social media posts and on here, both in regards to me and my chapter. It seems kind of hypocritical and snowflakey of you guys to get all sensitive about me getting a little condescending with you sometimes.

I mean simply stating or repeating the facts that we know to be true. Providing evidence, counter points, data, to refute misinformation and disinformation hardly seems insulting. But for some of you, there is this attitude amongst your side that thinks anyone who disagrees with you guys is personally attacking you.

This is something you guys should take a lesson in. Instead you’re playing victim because someone was condescending? Yet you guys are the ones doing all the attacking. And I haven’t whined or complained about it once…

I was contacted by a company called Priogen checking with me if I wanted their services. They claim they have a live animal test. At the bottom of the home page, they say if they find prions by law, they are required to turn me in. Nice.

https://www.priogen.store/pages/tri...602&utm_medium=email&utm_source=shopify_email

In their informational they had this word Tricision unknown to me, so I looked up the meaning: Scoff

Tricision: Our custom set of econometric models using proprietary algorithms which are bedded in advanced statistical techniques and machine learning, so as to identify the customers that will maximize the revenue of a specific marketing effort – such as a catalog, flyer, or postcard.

Is repeating the truth bothersome to you? That whole "Live Animal" thing is a stickler, isn't it? Please answer the question BrockW. Is IHC an approved test for CWD in live animals? Seems to be a simple enough question to me guys, but oh so difficult for BrockW to answer. Even though it's extremely easy for anyone to use google to find the truth.

Pay very close attention to the response fellas.
Sorry was watching football!

No, you are correct. The protocol of RAMALT (rectal) via IHC is not USDA approved for regulatory purposes. IHC is an approved test. But RAMALT is not an approved tissue.

But in my opinion, I think this is sort of a red herring argument. The lack of “approval” means relatively little. Test accuracy/sensitivity/specificity for that protocol it 93% sensitivity in wild type deer. Meaning it misses some positive deer due to lack of sensitivity, as shown in the table below.

The reason RAMALT via IHC is not “approved” is because it’s not sensitive enough with 96S animals. Not that it’s working up positives out of thin air. 96S animals don’t accumulate prions as much or as quickly in RAMALT. Meaning those 96s animals can actually escape detection when IHC is used for that tissue, at about a 50% rate.

Simple question from a simple mind. If, as claimed the disease is passed through saliva then why can't the saliva of a live animal be tested for the prions that " the science " says it contains instead of culling the animal and then testing it ?

Brock, the scrapie program bred with animals above 171 condon and slaughtered animals below. This deer program is thinking cull animals below 96S and breed with animals above 96S condon. Genomes and DNA.

Do you support this genetic manipulation?

Why is no one talking about what is killing all the deer? I thought it was the Blue Toung or whatever those midges are carrying infecting the herds?

EHD and winters are the leading cause of natural mortality. Hunter harvest is number one overall. This is why it’s excruciating for a lot of us to even get into the science of any of it. Straight into the weeds Brock takes it…. Thats where he wants it though so he can flash his fake science and distract from the real truth. it’s a disease thay doesn’t take young deer period. I still haven’t got the numbers from anyone officially but most deer are probably very lucky to make it 4-1/2 years of age with 7-10 year olds being exceptionally old by ND standards. If the disease doesnt manifest until later in the deers life what’s the entire point of this conversation…… most deer are dead long before cwd can be an issue….
1) not transferring to humans….. check
2) not killing or significantly impacting deer numbers ….. check
3) not being spread to other animals…. Check…

wtf is even going on then….. oh yea $400some million dollars up for grabs…. Does it makes sense now?

They can. But disease pathogenesis studies have shown that positive animals accumulate prions in their retropharyngeal lymph nodes sooner, just after a month post infection (35-45 days). Whereas prions aren’t shown to be excreted in saliva until 3-9 months after infection, most 6+ months PI. Saliva also presents some other challenges for testing protocols. For instance, IHC uses a cross section of a LN and pathologist actually has to confirm staining in the right cells within the anatomy of the LN for it to be positive. Obviously, can’t take a cross section of saliva and it has no anatomy. Also, lymph nodes cant really be cross contaminated, but saliva could get cross contaminated when hunters submit heads.

Well, I don’t think it’s an apples to apples comparison. 171RR in sheep showed complete protection against scrapie. Unless I’m mistaken, a sheep with the 171RR allele has never been found to contract the contagious/classical form of scrapie.

96S deer do not show complete protection. In fact, Laurie Seale was on a USDA HCP standards revision conference and she testified that she had multiple does in her herd breed with the best genomically estimated breeding value (GEBV) scoring buck in the nation (according to Seaburys program). Seale stated half of those fawns were CWD positive within two years. Her herd was depopulated in 2022.

There’s also the issue of 96s deer basically not existing anywhere outside of Texas. At least from the data I’ve seen. North Dakota, Wisconsin, and even Arkansas, as well as some others have done some genetic testing to assess herd genetics and it’s dominated by wild type genotypes. Especially so in the northern climates. I would think if 96S deer were fit to live in Northern climates we’d see them better represented in northern herds. But that’s not the case.

I wouldn’t call any of that genetic manipulation. Those PrP knockout animals, now that’s genetic manipulation. But I guess with all that said, at this time I do not support it. Maybe something changes in the future? But as of now, no.

Wind Cave is a National Park, no hunting is allowed. It has a fence around it. The herd has had CWD since 2002 and is still expanding. They used to chase some out into Custer State Park. Not this time. They are going to shoot (sharp shooters) excess animals, so they don't increase above the carrying capacity of feed available inside the fenced in Park.

This herd has been heavily studied. The primary investigator is Dr. Glenn Sargent from the Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center in Jamestown ND. US Geological Survey.

What is interesting is David Allen Brandt also a federal biologist worked with Glenn Sargent at NPWRC. Mr. Brandt currently serves as a director with ND wildlife federation and as a director of Brock's Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.

It's a boar's nest.
