Considering we can't process enough for our own use here, I wonder what the shipping costs are for sending it out and then back again. More than likely partially why Texas is cheaper than the rest of us.

Interesting question is how much do local and state TAX add to the price of fuel.

I think tax amount per gal should be on every pump.

There used to be a sticker on each pump with this info, I haven't paid attention in a while I guess. It was right near the sticker on each pump that signifies annual flow certification.

Remember the old saying where a female will drive across town to save a $1 on a item on sale she doesn't need? Sometimes I think we have that mentality as well....by gosh if I can save my self .02 per gallon I am going to head across town to do it.;:;popcorn

EXACTLY....

If gas costs $1.99 a gallon at your station on the corner and your pick-up is on ¼ tank so you put in 15 gallons, you.re at $29.85

…but wait you’re local big box store has gas for $1.95 when you bring in your receipt…holy smokes now you’re at $29.25

In Fargo for example you are probably on average 5 miles from most big box discount stores (unless you are guywholivesinsoutherncanada) …so on average you have a 10 mile round trip through town with your pick-up averaging 12-14 MPG in town to save yourself $.60 attaboy ;:;banghead

Yep which means you didn't save .60 cents at all as you had to put in almost another gallon @1.95 so driving the extra 10 miles in your scenario meant you more or less just wasted your time driving across town.. but hey..if that makes a guy's pee pee chubby bragging they saved .05 a gallon by crossing town..who am I argue?

Been 2.39 in Watford City for a long time. Was at 2.29 when WTI was last in low fifties and dropped back into 40s, gas went to 2.49. At least we catch a break on snacks and drinks inside.
