Soil conditions

Just curious if anyone would care to share their take on how the soils are in their neck of the woods right now. Mostly wondering if you have been trying to dig how solid they are, and to what depth they are solid.

Anyway, any anecdotal observations would really be appreciated.

SD/ND border, 30-36" plus of frost a week ago I was told. And that was a couple weeks ago. Keep in mind this area got some big rains in July and went into fall with good subsoil moisture.

I'm very interested to hear the responses.....this is something I know very little about and having grown up here I want to know more!

My smartass comment would've been "well there's snow covering all the soil in my yard so I can't tell".....

You know, that's really interesting because all I ever hear is how horrible it is north of the border.

According to NDSU NDAWN, the frost line is in that 30-36in range.
