Mama KDM isn't a fan. She stated emphatically that quote "they all stick to high heaven". She uses cast iron or aluminum with baked enamel coating. Her kitchen stuff is one area of our relationship I've learned to stay completely out of the way and simply enjoy the sweet ambrosia of foodstuffs that float gloriously out of that area of our home.

Do they all stick or just ours ? I thought they would work better than they do.
We decided about 5 years ago to replace our cookware with either stainless steel or non-stick. After researching both we decided non-stick. If I remember right, stainless steel has better uniformity of heat when cooking but is harder to clean. I’ve been very happy with the non-stick pots and pans we bought from Costco.

We have always used cast iron and Teflon and never had a problem till someone told my wife that Teflon pans will kill you and SS is the best. She took the bait and then decided that cast Iron was too heavy . I'm looking for more things to cook that will stick to her SS and make it harder to wash by hand so that I can get that cast iron taste back in my diet.

Stainless steel is great for cooking many things. But frying is not. At least for me. Supposedly if you get the pan hot enough before adding the meat it shouldn’t stick. Something I apparently can’t do. I like the cast iron for frying.

I've tried everything , including a 3 stage buffing till it looked like a mirror. It did help some but still for the price they should work better.

I suppose a light cast iron pan would break easier if dropped ? Or maybe the newer ones are lighter. The old antique one we have is a big brute with tall sides, I remember my mom making donuts in it
