i much prefer p90x because its more "manly" workouts. I hate cardio, so if i can be tricked into doing it through lifting that's a good thing for me.

Been ages since P90 but yeah you're right it's more focused strength training I think..... Insanity is core/cardio/legs.....which is of no benefit to a hunter ;)

Did P90X for about 6 weeks and then my knees and shins started bothering me from all the jumping. Also HATED doing the yoga, hour and a half is too long. Works good if you can do the program how it was intended and not puss out on some of the exercises. For sale if anyone wants it. Went back to working out in the gym first thing in the morning and wouldn't do another home exercise program again, but that's just me.

I was going to write about the yoga but was dealing with the dog this morning. I loathe that hour and a half. I'd get to 30 minutes and go on with my day. Everything else was alright and I especially like the core day.

I have a kettle worx program i really like it is not huge time consuming which is the hardest part having a kid in sports working 10-12 hours a day and still finding time to work out. The first time i did the 6 week program i dropped 25 pounds and you could see my abs again.

Anybody do P90x or any of the at home training programs? Thinking of starting p90x or a kettlebell program

I have both Insanity and P90X. As others have said Insanity is a better cardio workout and takes less time but it is tough. P90X will get you more of a blend of weights and cardio. I don't think the cardio is as strong as the Insanity program though. Also, the yoga while probably beneficial is too long so I always substitute another cardio program for that. Most of the time I'm doing a combination of Insanity and P90X depending on how I'm feeling at the time and what I'm trying to accomplish.

In regards to Insanity or p90x: When I get into a strange position while doing the workout, I kinda get the weird feeling that Shaun T is checking me out through the TV. Then I realize his husband is much better looking than me and that was just silly talk.

I have Insanity. I've watched the videos while laying in bed. They haven't helped.

Not where I'd like to be
The key to any workout is sticking with it long term. It doesn’t do any good to go all beast-mode for two weeks and either burn out or blow something out.
Elliptical is very low-impact as others have stated previously, so you won’t hurt yourself and you’ll stick with it.
I’ll add that watching hunting shows while on it is a good way to pass the time.
I like to watch Calling All Coyotes DVDs with Randy Anderson. That way I’m prepping my brain for the hunt while I prep my body.
