Actually lunk, sub sonic stays below the speed of sounds slightly, still more sound than my 177 critter getter, quiet loads rule for my needs.,had issues at my house with wood chucks, one tore up my dog good, pellet rifle didnt cut it.

Had my sights on a ruger 22lr heavy barrel with built in suppressor ( ruger 10/22) now that suppressor 's are legal in my state, red tape was taking months, feds, ugh, quiet loads saved the day and my pocket book.
CCI .22 CB Long 29grn are more quiet than 40grn "Quiet": Will shoot in one hole @25: Same "710fps": CB Short is the same load but less accurate (not much) IME: I believe some of the gas from a "Quiet" still cracks supersonic at the muzzle and out of the ejection port from an auto. FYI: All the above loads crack like hell out of a non suppressed handgun.

I'll try to post a repeat vid.

If you fellows want quiet buy some Hogdon Trail Boss. 308, 6.5 Creed, whatever. Fill the case to the shoulder, dump and weigh it, then multiply by .75 as your starting point. I shoot 180 gr out of my 308 with 10.3 gr Trail Boss and velocity is 1030 fps. At sea level 1116 fps is the sound barrier, but even at 1030 you will get a crack from the bullet at 7000 ft elevation. 1030fps is good for anywhere in North Dakota.
The toughest subsonic I have searched for is the 10mm. Not to hard with a 200 gr, but my cast are 175.

The repeat vid: My experiences were the same: Dad's 10/22 was louder with "crack" than my 21in Marlin bolt gun with it's tube mag. The shells he's shooting have some/same powder (same S/Lg): He's "confused" by 19th Century "parlor guns" :
