My brother in Lacrosse is boiling syrup this weekend. He hasn't been ranting on Facebook lately so the maple must be running.

Ive been thinking about planting some sugar maples. Anyone try these in ND and have any luck?

I’d just plant any type of large maples proven to thrive in your area

mine aren’t sugar maples, but their sap is nearly 3 brix - took “only” 50 gallons of sap to make the syrup in the pic, ha ha

Is anyone else anxious to tap some trees this year.. I am patiently waiting for a lil warm up to put some taps in..
At what temps do you guys start tapping the maple trees?
