Lincoln, kinda...
I would guess that like most things in life, it simply got outdated. This was in an era of significant emissions updates to keep the EPA happy.

They were fun to drive though.

The sho was ahead of its time as far as emissions were concerned, one would think if thst was the case you could possibly make it better. 🤔

Lincoln cars have been the most reliable of any vehicle I've ever owned. I wish I would have known sooner because they have saved me a lot of $$$ compared to everything else iv'e owned.
Too bad ford charges so much more for their in house parts compared to companies like honda and toyota which are arguably the longest running cars on the road.

Just did another f150 with the header leak...the coolant fittings in the turbo were like $50... small little fitting.

Which is unfortunate because Ford was up there with toyota and honda for reliability but unfortunately when the government enforces mandate that make automobiles jump through hoops to keep up with certain so called environmental standards, they will outsource their parts to the cheapest options to keep their profit margins up.

I just couldnt believe the price..i thought they were gonna be like $10. Altbough it could have been the dealer. Was quoted $900 for an alternator on an expedition. Same factory one is $479 on rock auto.

Yeah i rarely buy anything from local businesses which is a shame i know, but when the jack up prices i have to look at my own wallet to. Its not always though l, but on bigger price things i usually look for better deals.

Yeah i prefer to shop local but dam thats a huge difference. I can have it overnighted for way less then the dealer had it for. Wonder if they know..or even care. Guy at desk didnt seem to care so i am sure its above him.
