I have the Stanley. My coffee cup is a thermos brand. Both keep coffee hot for hours, as long as you warm up the container prior to dumping your coffee in.

Yup this is what I have done for years, works well. I also try to not break the seal on a full hot thermos unless I am filling a full cup or two, seems once you break the hot seal it cools down quicker too. I have had my Stanley sit for 24 hours without breaking the seal on a full thermos, and had fairly warm/toasty coffee the next morning.

Preheat is the big key.
