Old oil from a fish fry. Thought I dumped it far enough out in the field.

Oh man, that's nasty. That's one I'd never even thought of...

Guy that pumped our septic a few years ago managed to somehow spray it all over our grass, and of course failed to mention it to us.
So yeah the dog had a great time rolling in that mess. It really was a shitty deal.

I see what you did there...

When I was a kid in Minot, my dad and I were out of town with the white half-breed poodle. Saw the dog rolling in something, off in the distance. I walked out, it was a full-on, sun-plumped skunk. The dog was no longer white.

"...and that's the last I ever saw of that dog."

YUCK these are horrible stories!

Royce rubbed one side of his face on a dead mouse once. We were there and gave him the guilt trip from heck. Lots of low long "NO..... NO.... NOOOO...", tons of stink eye, and the "you're no longer in good standing in the pack" body language (aka ignoring). Not a thing since.

Sounds like we have a very very good boy. Somebody is getting an extra petting and treats tonight.

All of these dog ate my/rolled in stories are pretty funny. Mostly becasue they haven't happened to me! I must have gotten lucky, mine has never rolled in anything, or destroyed anything and he has the run of the house all day long. Hell my male dog doesn't even lift his leg and mark territory. The only thing that pisses me off is that he doesn't take to kindly when a lady friend takes his spot in my bed and he gets the kennel! Its about the only time he barks, and has been known to kill the mood if the lady has a soft spot for dogs and feels sorry for him;:;banghead

Our black lab from my childhood days rolled in a rotten dead skunk. That was the worst as it was skunk and death. I scrubbed that dog with tomato juice and all kinds of soap about 3 separate times to make it tolerable. He still had a hint of it almost a year later when he would get wet.

When I had my beagle, took him fishing with me....he managed to find every dead pike people discarded in the woods below the dam at darling.....My GSP loves to roll in deer/rabbit poop. Found this out the other day when I took him out in a field for the first time.

How'd the new pup do?

Anything dead longer than 2 weeks, poop of any kind, and some times you just don't know and don't want too.

Wasn't my dog but a buddy had his dog find a hole in the ground. Nothing special about the hole other than at one time there was an outhouse parked on top of said hole. Parked at one time indicates that the outhouse was now gone. Dog had great fun digging in the hole. Not a pleasant smell when the dog came home.
