Do any of you guys have a Have a Time share, and are you a member of RCI or Interval for trading your week, which of the two Is better? We have a fixed week in Orlando and when we come back from our trip this year I think I want to trade it next year and try something different, What are the advantages other then trading your week. What are the annual cost to join? I can't seem to find prices on their sited unless I fill out the info to join

No offense but time shares are a waste of money. No need to buy a time share! Those of you that did made a mistake.

We use our 2 weeks every year. Love it.

Whether it’s a waste or not, I don’t know, mrs johnr is the book keeper, and actually makes a living as a financial advisor. But not sure if it is the same program sold every time. Ours must have made sense, or maybe the sales guy was hot?

My mom bought into a vacation club that uses Interval. Are they worth it? I'm not sure either way. For her it has worked out because she knows she paid a lot of money for it so she uses her 5wks each year. If she didnt she probably wouldn't travel as much. My family used it and stayed at a Mariot resort in Florida for a week last year which was a blast! That was using Interval. Now if I inherit it and the maintenance fees dont go up drastically it will be a hell of a deal.

Rci and interval base everything off of points what they will give you for your week is the big question. I've found they have better deals for domestic trips but stick it to you with meal plans if you travel abroad.

I'm not out much money, and I can go to the Daytona 500 every year if wanted to. and the maintenance fees for what I pay I cant get a hotel as nice as our place, Thinking about the RCi or Interval to trade next year and it sounds like if we trade it would be a two bedroom equal to ours in Florida, and to take family for a week for the price of flight tickets gives them more money for Disney world or what ever they want to do, And it makes me take a vacation which is not all bad.

I think these things depend on how good a deal you get on the purchase. I sat through one of those BS deals in Mexico. Started off at like $10,500 in the beginning. Two hours later and continuing to say no they were down to $1800. I would have done it but the flights are so damn expensive to there it wasn't worth it. Far cheaper to just do an all inclusive deal by a long shot.

There is no such thing as a "good deal" on a time share. Especially now days with sites like VRBO and AirBnB.

This thread is good timing. Wife signed us up to go to Orlando in a few weeks on a "free" trip. All we have to do is sit through a two hour meeting where they try to get you to buy a timeshare... I'm very skeptical and have zero intentions of getting a time share.

That 2 hour meeting will turn into an entire afternoon when multiple high pressure salesmen keep herding you back into the room telling you to give them just a few more minutes. :;:muahaha

I swear people buy just to get away from them.

Whats the best way to get them to give up? Just be an asshole to them and inform them that I'm broke? If so, this should be easy.

I'd rather go where I want, when I want, and the price at the time.... compared to paying a fee every month and then realizing I've already put it $5k and now it's time to spend a week somewhere. We fly there and the room isn't much better than a Holiday Inn hotel room. -Meh-

Mexico next week for 6 days and then Australia next winter.

Does anyone with a timeshare use RCi or Interval? I got this timeshare for under $400 I just want to learn the best way to get the most out of it, We went down last year and I got the flue on the way down Felt nasty the first few days and I missed out on a few things, This year I might check out the Daytona 500 and a few other places, and Next year possibly trade to go somewhere else. My maintenance fees are $800 a year for a place that would easily be over $300 a night. I have no complaints so far. It sounds like our timeshare has very good trading power, it sleeps eight and people I talked to last year said when they trade theirs they usually get two different vacations for their one they trade, But I have no ideal how that works yet

Just wondering which is better RCI or Interval and maybe trade every other year, for a change if pace. Don't know where to trade to until I know options and to sign up for Rci or Interval. Looks like RCI might be a little cheaper when it comes to vacations with out trading about half the cost of Interval is what I am finding snooping around a little, I have no problem going to Florida, But if I could trade My timeshare. for mexico or Costa Rica one year, I don't want to do a permanent trade

We are Starwood owners that transfer unused points to Interval International. We love ours and use it to the fullest. We do sit through these sales pitches often as the swag they give is worth a couple hours of our time. We just say 'no' to everything they offer and are point blank honest about we just came to get the free meal or free tour package.
