To early to rattle??

Going bow hunting tonight for the first time this year. I just set up the blind 30 yards away from a scrape and rub, is it to early to rattle? Just wondering if the rut is on.

I'd say not too early - s/b perfect time - bucks are getting antsy, but does probably aren't ready - should be lot of testosterone flowing.

I tried it Sunday night, an hour later two bucks walked by in front of me 5 mins apart from each other. Pretty sure it had nothing to do with the rattling but I like to pretend it did.
