Yup been there done that..could still do it. If you know how to run your boat..non of it is needed. I can keep my boat with a tiller kicker in pretty much any wind(within reason) and current at 1.75 if i want to without electro..does it take time to learn? Sure. Can some days be more challenging then others? Sure. Do i still use my bow mount? Yup after a few beers or I am babysitting others in the boat. I can also say every other boat i have fished in..the guy running the tiller without all the electro stuff has usually been a better fisherman/boat control then the guy thay sets a speed and uses the bow mount.. like i said my opinion for the guy that asked the question..sometimes its not always about the electronics..maube take a stab at it without and see how it goes. If he doesnt have a tiller its a mute point as i would go with electeo conteol over using forward controls
You don’t me so don’t assume I don’t know what I’m doing. I know how to run my boat just fine and better than most. It’s all about control and having propulsion on both ends when cranking just gives better control, There’s not even a debate about it. Ever think when your the only one that thinks this way you might be wrong……..I’d be willing to bet I put double the hours on the water every year than what you do. My next boat may not even have a kicker. With as good as the bow mounts annd lithium batteries are, I’ll likely either have breaks or power poles as troll cranks less and less every year. Never been my favorite way to fish and likely won’t with all the new sonar and FFS tech out there.
