He did this, they did that. More of the same BS for these reservations! Keplin says that 'others' were funneling money to their relatives and he's got EVIDENCE to prove it. Well, why didn't HE DO SOMETHING about it while he was the top chief of the reservation????? He was the Chairman and just watched it happen without putting a stop to it?

Sounds like the tribe has the same evidence of him. They should worry less about pipelines and more about corruption, poverty, and drug abuse... SMH

Imagine living under not just one overblown government but two and still vote to make them both bigger. Crazy what cash, and cash handouts do to people. Green heroin.

No big surprise here. Tribal government is a soap opera.

Yes there were flags up there too but I had a few natives who stated they were a bunch of junk at standing rock and stated they needed to run the garbage out of there. Some just needed to get on the bandwagon as it does get boring siting at home all day weather our young or old. db

If you find a rez that isn't corrupt, that would be news.

They are frequently used as examples in Accounting Fraud courses.

Wrong tribe on the pipeline thingy.

No. TMBC also sent people to Standing Rock to show 'solidarity'. The TMBC flag flew at the Red Warrior camp along with others. They also publicly sent letters to be read on the news that they support SRST.

Lincoln, kinda...
While a lot of flags were flying there, a flag in and of itself doesn't mean they officially supported the cause.

Didn't know about the letters of support from TMBC, from the council itself?

From my perspective about the TM support of NoDAPL it was minimal. There are always going to be people who jump on a bandwagon but it wasn't very visible in the northern part of the state. Kind of like 3 Affiliated's support. From what I heard on the radio it was basically, "We will support the SR tribe." It was never support of the DAPL protesters. There is a difference.

I don't know how the current situation will shake out but it's in turmoil right now. No one knows who for sure is in charge or who is making decisions. Don't know the full cause but do know that when this council took over they were deeply in debt and overspending. Serious cuts were made that left workers out of a job. Of course that offends them so now it's the council's fault. From there it went on to this. Truth is it might be the previous councils fault as much as anyone's.

In this case, again everyone on the reservation is being placed in the same group. As is the case everywhere there are a lot of good people on that reservation that are being cast in a bad shadow because of the actions of a few. Like all politics they and us need to get back to electing those who will serve our best interests, not how much they can give us. Big difference.
