Why would anyone even want to shoot a mule deer doe ..... good grief

Why would anyone even want to shoot a mule deer doe ..... good grief
1. They’re bigger than their counterpart the whitetail doe
2. Some people may like venison more than once every 5-7 years
3. And this is America

Well apparently your math isn't very good since the amount of Revenue this adds is 0! These tags all existed back in July there is nothing new here tag or Revenue wise.. Apparently math is not your strong point. There are over 1900 tags
Wags2.0 and MuleyMadness kind of hit the nail on the head with their comments pertaining to the number of leftover tags. My wife and I have always hunted 3F2 or 3F1 as I grew up in Hettinger and all of my family still lives there. A lot of the land gets posted, both pasture and field ground. It's also a long ways from anywhere when you're hunting the border area in between Hettinger and South Dakota.Unless you have private land to hunt on the hunting opportunity isn’t great. I’ve hunted there a few times

I thought you were smarter than this these are not new tags these are not additional tags these are tags that are left over from the original drawing this summer! You can pretty well guarantee what happened is that after the first draw they had thousands of tags left over (over 6,000 to be precise) after that people who did not get drawn in the first drawing were allowed to put in for the second drawing after that drawing there were still tags leftover like there has been almost every year. They then opened the remaining tags up to first come first serve to people who did not have a tag but you can all but guarantee they were not selling very well so they've now decided to allow people who have already drawn a tag to have a chance to buy the tags for the first time in damn near a decade. Because of this they see no Financial increase over the allotted tags they started out with back in June when they held the original drawing! Therefore by doing this they see no increased Revenue unless you want to try to factor in the fact that they might have possibly had unsold tags go all the way through the season had they not done this. Once again these are not new tags they didn't just decide to sell more tags they started off by offering 64,500 tags and they have apparently sold around 62,600 at this point and when they sell these tags that are left over from the first and second drawing they will hit their 64,500 cap and make EXACTLY THE SAME AMOUNT THEY ALWAYS WERE GOING TO MAKE.Dean I thought you were smarter than this. Are they giving these tags away? You do realize every tag sold is added revenue and assuming the tags are $ 30/each with more than 1900 tags available the additional revenue ( if all were sold ) would be over $ 54,000.00 but I am sure you know that.

Unless they are not sold, at which they will not make any additional money
If you put in for Muzzy doe you'll get drawn every 2-3 years.Well, I am going to try for one. I bought a muzzle-loader 8 years ago in hopes of drawing a tag. Since I can't ever draw one I will try to buy a left-over doe tag and go hunt in December with the boom stick.
But this would let you take a mule deer doe which is not something you can do with a straight up muzzy tag. Plus you get to build up your preference points well still getting to hunt.If you put in for Muzzy doe you'll get drawn every 2-3 years.
