Doing construction work with the coe really opened my eyes to how wasteful the govt can be. A four foot wide side walk that was 300 ft long with no structural value to anything other than some one walking on it was tested more than a bridge deck for the Dot. No common sense just read the little book.

Every “project” on every military base. They say they need it bomb proof and that big bids help the local economy. Same with housing. Then they’ll contract out maintenance to the lowest bidder, let it go to hell, tear it down and start again.

Yep done a fair amount of work at the Minot af base and they waste money with crazy specs. Pretty much any govt thing the faa is probably the worst of all of them. The same specs used at Chicago ohare or eagle butte international.

Are you talking about those public employees that are here on NDA posting on this topic during working hours ? I am not going to call them out by name but most if not all know who they are.

Not weird at all. If you were the person responsible for managing a dam project and your budget got whacked and weren't allowed to hire anyone, what do you cut? Dam maintenance which has historically already been difficult to keep up with, or recreational facilities that you can't staff? Keep in mind now, the historical reflection that would take place if you choose recreation over dam safety if that dam were to fail or have other major issues later down the road. Also remember, camping fees in general (last I checked) do NOT go into the facility's budget. Collected fees go into the U.S. Treasury, or in state parks, to the state General Fund. I haven't really paid attention to the details for several years, but I've not heard of any major changes to this policy.

One can't go into McDonald's and negotiate the price of a Happy Meal, why would a person think they can get the same level of services out of the government by offering to pay less? Inefficiencies, waste, fraud and abuse? At least two of those terms are criminal in nature, yet the list of arrests made so far is very short.
Thats not what I was referring to. What I meant was the fact that parks existed and operated with amenities and were manicured and maintained just as nice way back in the day with only a fraction of the amount of rec goers that are there now, ie way less funds available in the 80's with similar park care and facilities.

Nonsense. This is called the Firemen First Principle. Dropping high profile services to garner political leverage.
Absolutely incredible to see someone outside my libertarian economic pages bring this up except I know it as Washington Monument Syndrome. You have a deeper understanding of the nature of the state than most any voter. The state will cut high profile services that the public values the most to hold hostage for more funding while wasteful low value spending continues to occur unnoticed. Another example would be the military not having enough funds for ammunition for troops yet maintains a fully staffed marching band.

USACE Totten Trail campground. We are paying for power and water to be on all season so the campground host from out of state can stay for free with full hookups. Grass is still being mowed. Now I see we're also paying to expand numerous camper pads. We also paid for significant electrical upgrades made in 2024.

And yet they canceled everyone's reservations because it's supposedly impossible to open it this season. So we have all the operation expenses along with personnel and equipment to make upgrades, but we have none of the revenue and no use of this facility.

Anyone still disputing this is Washington Monument syndrome?

The above video by Tom Woods if definately worth the 13 minutes to watch. He points out the troubles of the government budgets and why they stay absurd. Enlightening!
Absolutely, the filthy rotten corrupt leaders in the COE are closing these parks and campgrounds to inflict the most pain on the public taxpayers that paid for these parks for decades as to blame Trump for budget cuts. They could cut in a million other places but that would not further their agenda. For example, they are closing about half of Beaver Bay Rec area campground S. of Bismarck, while they still have to have a host present, and Maintenace to cut the grass, ect. The online reservations and payments are already setup and the money coming in would more than cover the cost of keeping it open. These corrupt leaders making these decisions should be fired and replaced with honest people.

I think what he is saying is that if Trump and Hegseth wanted the campgrounds open, they would be open since the people you are blaming for "putting it to the American public" work for those two.
And that is an idiotic assessment based on all the information and photos I shared. The bureaucrats closed the campground. Those are uniformed Corps employees in Corps-badged trucks and equipment expanding a campground they are supposedly unable to open.

That's like booking a vacation while going through bankruptcy proceedings, which is exactly the type of nonsense we get from bureaucrats.

Two things:

1. Which part of who they report to is incorrect?

2. Why argue with the translator?

Why do you even acknowledge him ? He is a fucking idiot that thinks he is being funny and cute with his asinine posts. He is typical liberal who feels he is an elitist and looks down and mocks most if not all members of NDA with his - Average_NDA_member user name.
