I have been at the "Hook" for the last 6 days, and the fishing has been INCREDIBLE! We have been, mostly, pulling crankbaits, in 15-19 fow. The hot lure, for us, has been the Flicker Minnow 9, in numerous colors. We tried some bigger lures, but ended back on our 9's, as they were producing real well. Faster seems to be a little better, in the 2.1-2.5 mph range.

We have been seeing A LOT of bait balls, in the 18+ fow range, so I assume that is what is holding these particular groups of fish. I know there has also been a real good shallow bite, in very shallow water, say 7 fow, and under.

Water temp is still in the upper 60's to lower 70's, depending on where you are at. Fairly low for this time of year.
I'm sure people are catching their fish with other methods, but this is what has been working for us. Hopefully everyone can get out there over this upcoming, HOT, weekend!!

You have learned the Ahab stance even with many fish to hold. Captain would be proud of you. LB

Back in the 70's-80's we RARELY fished deeper than 12' deep. 8-10' is where we were most comfortable fishing with crankbaits. We would get good bottom action at that depth. We could get deep divers do to 18-20' but after 2 hours of hanging on the rod, ur arm was worn out. We even fished with our 90hp Merc. most of the time. I preferred to fish Lazy Ike's my self, but some days the ol Rapala out fished da Ike.
Good ol memories.
