They were looking into a report that the shooter had been in the area from his home state of Illinois for around three months. His vehicle was supposedly found in front of a coffee shop across the street. Speculate what you will from the few details that are out.

I don't know about you all but I feel a little sick when you see and hear about stuff like this. I fully believe that at the rate we are going we could in the near future have some serious (battles) from the far left and far right radicals it is only a matter of time. The only other president that went through this is Lincoln and look how that turned out for him and the country.

If nothing else this is more of a chance for us to advocate for more trained, responsible and licensed gun owners. If I as CC person hear gun shots and assess the situation and believe I have a chance of neutralizing the shooter I believe I would try. Maybe my military background and training are a lot of the reason for this belief but I guess only a real situation will tell, which I hope will never happen but will be ready to deal with if the need should arise. We as gun owner and CC persons need to advocate for the opportunity to defend ourselves and other who won't take the stance and responsibility as CONCEL CARRY WEAPONS holders the we accept. Can't argue with that, but at least if I am or was carrying and if able to assess the situation and maybe react but that is where assessment and such comes into play and whether you can or will react or not. Most of these situations happen so fast it may be over before you understand what is happening. It is a instinctive reaction to the situation and most times instinct just takes over. Just have to hope to never be in that situation but if faced with it will have to deal with it and hope to make the right decisions.

I actually HOPE you are correct remm. Then when these Rectal Rangers on the left try their standard ploys, the good guys can pull this little "Trump Card" (no pun intended) out and beat'em severely about the head and shoulders with it for a couple years. That's how it should be. They shouldn't feel like they need armed guards around each one of them at all times on our dime. Sadly that's what this might come to, it was already brought up yesterday and the estimation is it would cost $1 million a month for each and every member of congress per month. Thier own estimation of course. Idk about you but I could employ a small town of people with guns to follow me around for that kinda loot. Also being proposed now is to allow congress to carry arms, but only them. The rest of DC must still follow the law. That's insanity IMHO. Concealed carry, take a class, pass the test be done with it. The public areas of DC are one giant soft target for these clowns to attack and that bozo proved it again yesterday.
