Searched the forum but found nothing but I'm sure it has been talked about here. Can't seem to get the water spots off my boat, especially on the darker color. Not talking the waterline on the boat-those came off easy. Suggestions???
Thanks a bunch.

I use the Hull Cleaner stuff from WalMart on my aluminum boat.

About once every 2-4 years. Works pretty well, but may still need some elbow action. If I remember correctly, it has oxalic acid in it to remove the water spots.

For caked on I use Simple Green and a stiff bristled brush. For daily cleaning I use Bassboat Saver or a product Honda dealerships market and sell that is a cleaner/wax in 1 spray can.

Sure does!
But be careful it'll remove your skins epidermis layer as well! Ha ha ha the works that is.
Vinegar and water always does well!

If its etched into the gelcoat youll have to use an abrasive compound and polish with an orbital buffer. Ive seen that happen even on glass. Typically from acid rain, or very acidic or alkaline water, or even if the waterspots were out in the sun as they dried, each waterspot acts as a magnifying glass and physically etches it into the surface.

If none of the above mentioned tricks work, they'll have to be physically removed withan abrasive.

Tried so many "Hard" water spot removers over the years I can't even remember a fraction including all the home brew methods with little to no success including all the vinegar mixes and last summer a new product came along that caught my attention from a lot of boat sites i follow and picked some up and it was awesome, removed water spots off my yamaha engine that have been there since the day it first saw water in 07 that nothing else would touch.
Company is called Boat Bling and the product is called Hot sauce. Scheels carries it and is actually reasonably priced there too. I bought some off amazon and then walked through scheels a onth later and saw it was cheaper than what i paid, i almost fell over.
My boat gets it after almost every outing now especially the engine and my pontoon is totally black and it keeps it looking great now.
