If you hit it with dispersant it can because they interact with the surface tension of the oil. But overall with something that light you won't see near as much of it sink naturally right away vs tar sands at less the 10. But don't forget an oils gravity the second it gets spilled start to change. As the evaporation process takes out all of the lighter hydrocarbons the gravity gets lower and lower and eventually the oil breaks down and what's left sinks down into the water column. By the time bakken oil starts to sink calling it oil wouldn't be technically accurate since it's really just the heavier base components left and they don't last all that long either if it's warm out and they don't get buried in the bottom.

So is this "heavy oil" toxic? Can it be harvested to further benefit me? If this is not oil, what should it be callled? Are we now supporting the protest?

ok so define racist comments. what if the truth is spoken but because it is towards s person who happens to be another race is that racism? isnt it thr
e truth as well? so how do you talk about reservations without being deemed racist because the truth is usually something negative. so by saying something to be true you are racist and can no longer say the truth? jesus what is wrong with this world
Oh this is an easy one. If your white your racist. Period. You don't have to say anything. YOUR RACIST. And basically should just hate yourself.

Where does my senator Heidi Heitkamp stand on this pipeline issue, and I think she is white, so does she automatically qualify as an anti Indian racist too?

She's stuck in no man's land on this one. She has no way to win so she's opted to stay out of it. The stand with standing rock guys have a petition going to get her to join their side. Needs 6,000 and have 2/3 of them but almost none are from ND so needless to say she having seen what this state does to its congressional delegation if they go to far left so she will most likely keep ridding the pine on this one.

This needs to end. Watch some videos from today. I am not even sure how to explain the things they are doing and saying. They call it a peaceful protest but it is far from peaceful. Cutting fences, assaulting security, walking in front of push cats. Someone with enough power needs to put their foot down and end this. Someone is going to get killed.

Ya, stop the bs. Take control. Let these clowns and all their bankrollers and libtard groups know they are messing with the wrong state. Apparently there was a highway patrol chopper today, dogs, and tear gas being sprayed. Should have totally been spraying the protesters with the bakken goodness lol. Big ole trucks just dousin the crowd in oil would be the best troll ever.

Be interesting to see how great camp life is if they get a bunch of rain and their little makeshift mainstreet becomes a mud bogging pit.

Yep four guards attacked with wooden posts along with two guard dogs. 1 guy was taken to the hospital and both dogs to the vet. The helicopter apparently was the companys and filmed the whole thing. Have to give the company credit one day after the tribe files suit due to supposing cultural heritage sites the company brings in bulldozers and scrapes off all the topsoil destroying any sign of any sites that may have actually been there if the tribes story was true.

Pics already circling facebook of victims from the dogs. #1 what kind of parent brings a kid on a firewater mission like that? #2 the pics floating around of the dog biting victims are photoshopped likely upon close inspection.

They are making themselves out to be the victims on all of their social media feeds and the world is soaking it up ignoring the fact they were the aggressors on this one having taken the protest onto private property and having torn down fences crossed and blocked the entire road to attack the security officers first.

"This demolition is devastating," Tribal Chairman Dave Archambault II said in a statement. "These grounds are the resting place of our ancestors. The ancient cairns and stone prayer rings cannot be replaced. In one day, our sacred land has been turned into hollow ground.

I find it interesting that no one gave two shits about this ground last year or the year before or any other year for that matter. I wonder how big the protests were when the bulldozer cleared all the pads for the power line that the pipeline is following. I'm also sure they were down there stopping the lake water from eroding the ground that is so special they had never been there before from slipping into the lake like all the banks around the lake! I'm sure they have guarded this ground for years and will be damned if a pipeline gets drug through there..........well other then the one that apparently is already fucking there!!!!!

The thing with oil spills and the average persons perspective on this is highly skewed because the news only ever covers the first little bit after the spill. They don't give updates on the fact that oil is a product of nature and outside of places of extreme cold she is extremely good at taking care of the mess herself. The initial impacts on wildlife and environment are bad no doubt but the lasting impacts tend to be very minimal.

What really has my attention is the pipeline i posted the pic of.....how come no one in the company brings it up. I followed it on Google maps down to a pumping station down by Zealand and from that was able to I.D. the line. It's the flipping Northern Border natural gas line....I.E. the gas version of the Alaska oil pipline. Pretty fircking amazing that the DAPL boys managed to disturb all these sites considering they already drug a flipping 42 inch pipe through there. He'll here's a shot of the the damn crossing spot in Morton county looking east. I don't know about you guys but that looks undisturbed to me!:;:stirthepot

The BP video showed that even the worst oil disaster won't destroy the country or even the world. The video also mentions how that disaster has cost BP 50 BILLION DOLLARS. Oil companies are not in business to allow spills and be liable for that kind of money. Dakota Access won't allow it to happen.

So when are Nodak anglers going to go down there to counter protest!
