Last week I checked one off the bucketlist.
I had planned to go up to Winnipeg for 5 days and fish and sleep o ln the ice. But I also bought concert tickets in Winnipeg for a band I've loved for almost 30 years..Big Wreck with front man Ian Thornley. Not only a fine singer "think Chris Cornell " but one of the best guitarist in the business. He and his band are all Berkley school of music alums. Anyway fishing partner plans fell through and there was no way I was going to miss that Monday show last week. So I asked my youngest if he could take a day off and go with the old man. He said absolutely right away as he really liked Ian's solo project album Thornley as a kid listening to it with me. Oh the kicker was we'd go to the show in Winnipeg and I'd have him back for work in Bismarck Tuesday morning..his mom was not impressed! Ha ha But we went and it was way better than I even thought possible! The sound was outstanding and Ian is a beast, especially for a guy that's fricken 53!
The bad part was they weren't the main band Live was "lightning crashes". After Big Wrecks set we were like wow, there is no way in hell Live can match that so we headed out with huge smiles on our faces..it was awesome! Rolled into Bis safely and I went fishing in the boat that morning and caught a limit while jr went to work!

I filmed some of the show with my phone. Sound quality isn't the best but it'd still pretty damn cool.
Here you go guys, Mr Ian Thornley.
