Before even commenting on the video. If someone sat a live 42yr old TR down and spent say a week covering the biggest political stories to happen starting on 1-1-2000 through present day. The next work day you'd see 435 members of congress, all of their staffers, and 5x+++ that many lobbyists hung in public starting at 8:00 AM sharp and going as long as it took.

Regarding their comments on park service, forest service, USFWS, etc. being cut. When a federal employee's personal political opinions become a blatantly obvious driving factor to how their jobs are done, how policy is interpreted, ultimately defining how those interpretations benefit some groups and strangle others out, then it's time for some "House Cleaning."

Folks from either side of the political aisle who wish to be in some manner of federal management in order to create their own private fiefdom SHOULD be out on their ear.

Some obvioius oversimplification here but if you've got a federal employee driving out or at least making things VERY difficult for grazing permit holding livestock producers so that bird-watchers, hikers, and bikers don't get cow-patties on their Birkenstocks, it's time for someone to find a new position. At the same time, it wouldn't be proper to block legal travel access to an area because the resident sheep shepherds don't want to have to train and keep track of their Great Pyrenees.

Like any purge, some good folks get caught up in the shuffle, but, too many managers of federal land had allowed their actual work and tasks of others become far too ideological and they were no longer "Following the Science".

We’re just now seeing the effects of the purge in our local national forest. From my perspective, they took an already overworked staff and reduced it by half or more. Mostly by eliminating those who had lots of years and experience. The main problem though is the hoops to jump through are still there. There’s talk and some minor progress on reducing permitting and other hurdles but it hasn’t been meaningful. So less people trying to do the same work. Priorities are timber and minerals first. Recreation and access last. I think we’re a few years from seeing fit worked or just made a huge mess.

I’ve seen many citizens taking advantage of this. Bootleg trails and unlimited travel are the norm in a very short amount of time. No enforcement presence anymore. No permitting on the horizon so folks do as they please. Good or bad we’ll see.

Where is our local national forest? Our state tree is literally the telephone pole.
