So I was wondering if anyone has installed a water drip system for their gardens? The gentleman who rented before me had the rain bird sprinkler heads, I can buy the conversation kits to install a drip system. Any thoughts or suggestions

When I bought my house I had underground irrigation put in and a specific zone for my garden and another zone for my grapes. Works great, a little extra work to get going early in the season, but saves a lot of time and water. I tried individual drip emitters but have gone to pretty much all drip hose with built in emitters at 6", they also have 12" emitters, but for row crops thats too far apart. Also can use this same line and make circles with a T to go around larger plants like tomatoes, use regular 1/4 inch line to go to them and the drip line around them.

The grow bag system works about as good as anything I have tried for self watering because you can't overwater or underwater. I laid out landscape timbers and covered them with plastic and set the grow bags down in it. I hooked it up to the garden hose with a cheap float valve on the end and it was trouble free all summer. Larry Hall from Brainerd mn has lots of vids about this system , I think he was the one who developed it.

The only plant that matters in my family: RHUBARB.

She's a big specimen, too. Getting lots of good light these days on the south side of the house. Mmmm I can almost taste my home-made strawberry rhubarb pie now...damn that stuff is good!

I'm not much of a gardener but I DO know this. Tomatoes love Miracle Grow. One year in Ga, I staked a little plant beside the house and gave it a triple dose. Holy hell. More than I like to admit became targets. We got sick of them and couldn't give enough away: One freakn' plant. One day while mowing, I discovered it leafless, a pile of fruit on the ground and crawling with cut worms. This didn't bother me much. A couple weeks later, it returned to full glory and we had tomatoes until the first frost. My first and only time at "gardening".
I do recall the soil was sandy (very) and the plant was in constant hot sun against a white sided house.

I raise damned near everything. About 1 acre to ground plant. Being a drywaller I have hundreds of 5gal buckets, so tomatoes go in them on raised platforms, will grow to over my head. I hate bending over due to needing hip replacement. Also buy 18 gal tubs from menards for my peppers. Put a 3''x 4' sewer pipe in middle of tub caped bottom end, drill 1x4" holes in bottom foot. Place in center of tub that I have drilled a few 1" holes for drainage. Fill with potting soil to within 3" of top. Put lid on top of pipe so no flies can get in. Drop in fish heads and guts when they are available or rough fish. Plant 3 peppers per tub. About once a week fill pipe with water, its like putting andhidrus on corn. Downside is you need to water about ever three day when it gets hot. Got about 25 peppers per plant last year. I have four people that I give tomatoes, peppers and onions to and they give me back salsa. Nice assortment of salsa and no mess. I love to grow stuff but hate the canning part except sweetcorn. Silver Queen all white is my go to for canning. For a cold winter supper mashed tatoes sweetcorn and a ring of deer sausage don't get no better.
