Did my Wile E Coyote impression this morning walking up to the house with both hands full of mail. Hit an ice spot and landed on both hands and both knee's. Good lord was with me as I didnt hear any snap crack or pop but it was all in slow motion. I really hate that!!!!!!!. Now every thing hurts even my new hip and I hope I found all my mail. Got Doc appointment in morning so see how that turns out. When that ice starts to melt it gets slicker if thats possible so be careful out there. LB

Just a little bit of water on the ice is a nightmare. Good luck to you.

Muck boots with cleats anywhere around the yard. I don't think I would survive a fall anymore.

Walking out of the bait shop several years ago, its a gas station somewhat on a hill. I was happily caring my bag of minnows took one step of the curb toward my running pickup, and next thing I know I am feet in the air minnow bag thrown way over my head and under my pick on my back I go. Worst than the instant pain was the busted bag of bait now scattered across the entire parking lot. I slowly pulled myself out from under the pickup and crawled into the drivers seat and drove away. Just left the bag and minnows where they lay, as a crowd of several people had witnessed the entire shit show and I just wanted to get the hell out of there.
I drove over to the next bait place and this time was successful at getting the bait to the pickup. I hurt for about a week after that, but worst is I have not been able to go back to the closest bait shop to me as I can never show my face in there again..

Took a bad tumble late Saturday when my right leg kind of buckled. That hasn't happened in quite a while. Tried to save myself from falling and of course I screwed myself up worse by doing that.
Anyway tore my hamstring in my right leg and it is torn badly! Can't hardly move, hurts when I sit, hurts when I stand/walk, hurts when I lie down. What the heck else is going to happen?
Got one thing going for me, my bride doesn't have Chemo this week, so hopefully it will heal enough so I can drive her to the Valley next Tuesday.

LB, all the best. Hope nothing serious. Us old geezers' need a little luck sometimes.

Since I never throw anything away I took my oldest ugliest sno boots and some very short self tapping screws and screwed about 6 of them into the soles. Works good on ice. Use them walking to the mail when icy.

About a month ago Bismarck had rain on top of ice. I got out of my truck at work. Slanted drive way. Started walking to the door. I realized that I was going to fall for sure. So I dropped to my knees and crawled to where it was safe to walk. Getting old sucks!

LB, sincerely hope you are ok. Got out of my pickup earlier this winter and ended up partially underneath it because of the ice.

I'm talented I know how to fall on perfectly dry ground. A couple years ago I was taking deer scraps to feed a couple fox that hang around the back yard. Stupid me didn't think I needed a light. I thought I was clearing a low two step high stone deck, but my right foot caught the lower step. $4000 for four new front teeth, new glasses, and tore a rib from the sternum. I fell on the ground level flag stone patio. Now every year when I have my physical my doctor asks if I have fallen this year. Only three times this year doc.

Up date. Wrist soar, knees soar, hip soar but no black and blue and no swelling so I think I dodged the bullet. It always takes a slip and slide to remind me to baby step on ice. This year it was later on instead of early. Thanks for all the well wishes. OLD LB.

Must've gotten some powerful opioids for everything to be flying/soaring like it is. Most folks would just be sore, but you're flying. Good for you.

In all seriousness, keep an eye on affected areas, if you start to see multi-colored bruising, might not be a bad idea to head in and make sure you don't end up with any worrisome clotting.

Good News LB. Glad you're OK. I'd sure hate to have to miss them yummy dirt babies you and your lovely bride produce every year. Stay on the mend my friend and I'll keep praying for an early spring. Maybe We'll get lucky...... Prayers sent for a fast and full recovery.

I would pay big money for video footage of this. Thanks for the laughs.

By big $ I mean at least two gallons of premium gasoline. Maybe three.

Slipping on the ice is never funny. About 15 years ago I slipped with the classic feet over my head and stretched my arm out only to hit my elbow. Most of my arm was black and blue for weeks. I don't even have to fall and hit the ground to twist my knee or back and have lasting pain. There's YouTube videos galore of people falling just outside their front door and down the steps. I wince in pain seeing those. Falling for young guys might be funny, once in a while, but for us old guys it sucks and is very serious.

One step closer to the end.
Several years ago, I slipped on the ice too.
Major slip.
My feet/legs went up flying and landed on my forehead.
Knocked unconscious and had a major league black eye.
Not good. Meaning the unconscious part. Came too and crawled into the house still half in a daze.

Seeing stars.

Guessing the third time that has happened to me.
Read that multiple concussions are precursor to mind/mental issues as life progresses.
So far I have been lucky with that.

Maybe mine is full of rocks. : )
