I think we should pull out some more tree rows so it can really get a head of steam scooting across the state.

Yesterday was the first day in over 2 weeks wind came from the south uther then that the wind has been blowing from the n/nw and today back to a north wind. I believe its going to be one of those years where we see higher then avg wind speeds, its dry but not nearly as dry as it is out west.
Played golf with south wind 2 days last week.

Its doesn't help that the farmers spray so much roundup and it killed those tree rows. If north dakota ever gets a few years where we get below normal precipitation it wont matter if they are using no till planting, i know many in the red river dont plant using no till because the soil in the fields are to heavy gumbo clay. Next thing farmers will be doing is reverse drainage pumping water back into the tile to bring moisture up in the topsoil.

And cold too, we had frost 5 or 6 days in a row last week.
I remember in 2000-2003 colder temps, wind and rain/snow during finals week sometimes which would be this week or next week still. After that things become a blur especially after I started traveling for work to good ol Iowa and such so I was basically only around home 8-10 days per month

You pussies need to grow a pair and accept you made a shitty choice of where to live. 😃
I'm willing to accept that my Norwegian heritage chose varying seasons of Hot and Dry, Hot and Humid, Cold and butthole deep snow, so cold that you can flash freeze almost anything in 30min and a few days of everything is just right VS venomous snakes, bugs, and hurricanes.
Maybe why my grandpa stopped where he did in the state is this eastern side because after he worked int he western ND thrashing and dealing with rattle snakes he said F' this I'm hoping a train and going back to get married and raise cattle on that side of the state

I love everything about ND, except the wind, which seems to have become a much bigger problem in my later years. As a child growing up east river, I don't remember 40-140+ mph winds almost daily.

Makes that low-till/no-till stuff seem even more appealing when the wind never stops blowing.
I never seen so many rollers/packers in the fields as I have in the last week. My neighbor leased a big one and rolling all his fields. There not blowing near as much
