I haven't heard much about them since Vinny got caught with one but they have been there for years.
I haven't hunted that unit in years but there was always a lot of deer down there, must be enough to keep them around. Theres a lot of territory for them on the refuge.

"Keep your powder dry boys" I asked AI , "can you legally shoot a wolf in North Dakota if it's chasing your livestock ? "

Yes, in North Dakota, if you find a wolf actively killing, chasing, or damaging your livestock or poultry, you generally have the legal right to shoot it without a permit as it's considered an immediate threat, but you must report the incident to a conservation officer soon after. North Dakota law specifically allows landowners to kill wolves (and dogs/coyotes) worrying livestock, protecting your property, but you should be prepared to show evidence and report it to authorities, as confirmed by state statutes like Title 36, Chapter 21.
The amount of deer elk and moose on that refuge and surrounding area provides plenty of food that the pack for now. Like everywhere else im sure they'll become more of a problem after a few more years

I'd want someone rolling Video showing the offending wolves actually offending before/during the shooting starting.

If a pack crossed the snow to my feedlot and left tracks coming and going would be good enough for me to empty my rifle.
I understand and 100% support a livestock-owners right to protect their property. Zero argument from me.

I guess I should've said: "In a perfect world, Video would sure be handy to likely negate any 2nd guessing by any enforcement interested parties".

S.S.S or S.L.S (shoot, leave, shutup)
I sure wouldn't be reporting a wolf kill livestock or no livestock and I darn sure am not going to trust a G&F agent to play it straight. "Catching" a wolf killer in ND sounds like a good way for a G&F agent to gain themselves recognition if it was the right warden

Too many "chipped" wolves to be trying the SSS.

shooting a wolf and trying to get away with it would make for a thrilling plot in a western drama series
Be on that like Ugly on an Ape.
