prolly depends on what you are going to use it for.
speaking for rifles, generally a synthetic stock will be lighter by a touch unless of course you stretch for the fiberglass stocks made by McMillan/manners which will be significantly lighter in weight and also to your check book. generally speaking wood will respond to atmospheric/temperature changes more than a synthetic stock will so your POI ( point of impact)can change from day to day in different weather conditions.
like the case in most of the hunting/fishing world you get what you pay for
