been without 2 tools for a year or so, and finally got around to sending them in 2 weeks ago... had a wave from bout 20 years ago with 2 or 3 broken pieces, and a much newer surge with a broken scissor (awesome designed and working scissor by the way), just had a small broken tab...

today i get 2 brand new pieces in the mail, both updated models... absolutely awesome warranty with no bs excuses...

good stuff...

I usually drop them down a ice hole before something breaks. So I quit buying them.

I've had 2 Gerbers that I really liked. Their warranty was just as good. I broke one cutting thick wire I shouldn't have been cutting. Sent it in and got a new one sent back. I sent another one back and got a new one in return. I seem to keep losing them so quit buying them but I do miss them.

Also a Gerber fan. Good warranty experience. Like being able to open with one hand.

I still have an early generation leatherman PST 2 from when I was a teenager. I actually lost it for about a decade and then found in an old jacket that was hanging in the closet. It's with me whenever I'm hunting or fishing. Never had a need to buy anything else.

They need to have a remote finder button so I can keep from losing them, or a remote shocker for people that barrow and don't return.

I'm a leatherman guy myself and a couple of my buddies have gerbers. Both are good but I seem to just always go leatherman, broke one after 15yrs and got a new one in the mail and have been given 2 for wedding party gifts so I should be stocked for near a lifetime.

I lose a Leatherman every few years just for good measure, but I have also had nothing but great customer service when I've broken one and sent it in, I think I've now sent in 3 different ones over the years.

Hell, I actually lost one on Highway 2 about by Simplot in Grand Forks. It was open and bounced off the boat, only to lay there and get run over ???? times before I retraced my path and found it. Even after all of that, I sent it in to Leatherman and they shipped me a new one!

I will likely never own anything but a Leatherman. I have two now so I can lose one for a week without going crazy.

I must be unique, as I use nothing. I really haven't been in a situation where I needed one I guess. I keep a tool box in my pickup, and have some random tools in the ranger, boat, Harley, and mrs johnrs rig.
Guess I hate having extra crap in my pockets and on my belt. I haven't carried a wallet in years.

ha ha - I'm "that guy" with no knife too... the guy who pats his pockets like a total doorknob when something needs cutting/tightening/opening

pats his pockets, shrugs his shoulders, and asks himself "where's my knife?" - like an idiot - because he quit carrying it many years ago

rancher I used to work for would ALWAYS ask me quite mockingly "where's your knife" every time I didn't have one

I'm "that guy" that has both a Leatherman and at least one knife on him. I've carried a pocket knife since second grade and would be lost without one.

I have 2 Super Leathermans that have missing/broken stuff one them. So what do I need to do to send them in and get them fixed?

I have a buddy that wears "tactical" pants and fills all the pockets with gadgets. He even has fire crackers on hand, just in case...haha
Love these guys, but we brought beans in a can on time, and when he emptied out his 200 items of needed gear, not one of them was a damn old fashioned can opener...haha
He now builds bridges.
