Its so dry here the thistle and dandelions quit growing. Supposed to get an inch here in the next couple of days. Lets hope we get a little more than that. Some crop adjusters are already telling farmers to burn down the crops they have looked at with roundup to save the nutrients in the soil.

If that's the case, I'd desiccate later in the year. The growing crop will sequester the nutrients and prevent their loss, then mineralize the nutrients the following growing season. But when It's dry, not much N will leach or denitrify. However, the growing crop will prevent future dust storms and the biggest enemy to a weed is a growing crop.

We're about 12 years overdue for a good drought. I think the whole state has been living on borrowed time. I feel for everyone who is really impacted by this. But we're resilient mofos. Someone get a pipe from Devils Lake and start pumping all that H2O to where it's needed! #$%^&>

I mean the whole state. West is always drier than the rest of the state. And 12 years removed puts it at 2005...so basically you're agreeing with me :;:exactly

Couple different kind of cherries and peaches.

Sweet cherries or sour? Ive done peaches and they didnt work unfortunately. Plums and nectarines are about as close as you can get.

Yeah, the peach thing was a whim. I know a couple who have kept them alive, so I figured I would try. I have the soil for them. And it's a fairly protected area from winter winds.

Problem is vast majority of hook dissolve in four to six weeks when left in the water and some cheap ones will be toast in as little as a week and a half. After that they will float up and drift away.

Well those dry ramps were useable in May of 08. It filled up all the way in 09.

I found a few cranks but there were better things to find. Remember, when it first went down it was barren, no trees or grass. On windy days you couldn't see Yates from the Hwy. When the weeds n trees grew, there were a few pheasants too shoot though, a few thousand that is.

She's still forecast to rise to 1846.7 on the 30th the last day the forecast goes to. She came up 18 feet in 09 to 1842.

I am always careful what I wish for I never pray for rain. 1975 fourth of July I think from that day on it went into my system. Throwing sand bags and walking dikes in the heat and mosquitoes. It's amazing what can be grown now days with little rain. Now I have clients with tile they pp water into and remove the evap effect.

Yep worked called off until further notice, doing a 10 mile overlay on highway 5 east of langdon. That drain tile is some amazing shit duel purpose use. Fun Fact, Did you know that during the drought in 1930's corn was the first GMO crop to grow in areas with very low precipitation.
