So the people that make sure the people that are cornering are reported do they also call in complaints about any airplanes that fly over their land too ?
Good point, it just shows how corrupt and ridiculous that law is.

Well if the plane was below 360 feet they definitely could. So the people that make sure the people that are cornering are reported do they also call in complaints about any airplanes that fly over their land too ?
Jesus you're exhausting. No. I didn't miss the point. Yes. I understand where you're coming from. It's not that tough. You're pretty simple. Or is it simpleton? Anyway, I'm doing my best to not fall for the old gst redirect bait. All I said was this thread is about a specific issue. Opening landlocked parcels. The closing of motorized access to accessible lands is an issue. And I recognize that. But THIS SPECIFIC THREAD is about opening up landlocked parcels. And like others have stated, I will worry about that when I'm too old to carry my camp on my back. In the meantime I'll be a selfish a-hole and be ok with the fact that these areas are open to foot and horse traffic only.
I have no issue with reaching agreements to access public lands, but it seems less than logical to better access TO public lands when the govt is closing access WITHIN public lands..........
Maybe these private land owners should just allow foot and horse traffic to the public land that only allows foot and horse traffic as well.![]()
Would be great to see some of the island chunks of public be opened up. Even if a guy could corner cross, that would make a massive difference.
That sort of thing is already in place in some areas of MT I've hunted. 3mi hike in up a creek until you get to the sign that says you can start hunting. You can access via foot or pack animal, no motorized access. It's been that way up that particular drainage since at least 2002.
You should go out and take that up with the Montana legislature plainsman. Say as an older fella that might not be able to carry his camp on his back, how do you feel about those that are okay with the govt "screwing the public" by closing access roads within these public lands?

Ya one area we used to hunt had an area to park your trailer than it was about a 2 mile ride on private land to where public land began.
Guess that fella wasn;t trying to "screw the public".![]()
in the states with all the land locked public land there is an opportunity for someone to run a helicopter business to get to this land. in Alaska 99% of the land is only accessible by air. I'm all for gaining easements but I'm pointing out why hasn't someone with business savvy been delivering people via rotorcraft
After having been hunting the back country is not for every body. You have to want it put in the time or have the stock to do it. It falls under one of those life just aint fair things not every one can or is willing to put in the time or resources needed. I know my time is coming where i will not be able to go any more and to keep places that are wild i dont think we need more roads. Give people a way to access it non motorized and i am happy. I am not opposed to letting timber be cut and used to keep fires in check but then those roads they use can just be let go and not turned into new roads each time. I like to think when i am way back in a place it might be the first time a human has set foot here (most likely not true). If a land owner grants a easement but it is non motorized only it is his land he is letting us cross so i am more than happy to abide by what he wants.
you hunt(ed)?
you can use a helicopter
Maybe it is just me, but when people complain about "access" be it public or private, and yet say nothing about the govt closing tens of thousands of miles of "access" impacting literally millions of acres .........well I just scratch my head.
