Im not sure how I feel about fed govt bailouts for communities that are hit by disasters, repeatedly... Kinda think states should be the ones to pay for repairs, after all, the residents of those states choose to live where it is more dangerous than the rest of the country, why should we bail them out every year?

Totally agree on this for the most part concerning building/living in areas that are prone to disasters, but some areas are so called once in a 1000 year stuff that just isn't supposed to happen. But yeah, I hear you that Gov. shouldn't be expected to bail people out continuously.

Was talking to a highway patrolman once, about the things he's seen. The worst crash clean-up he'd ever seen, was a tanker of honey. Said they cleaned it up off of the road, with grain-scoop shovels.

That would not be fun.

I agree to an extend, but I guess if they are going to bail someone out, I would rather see it go to people that are working and just want to protect their families vs some of the big bank bailouts that happened during the housing crash.

Theres no question in my mind that the banks should have been left to fail, but 2 wrongs doesnt make a right either...

Sarcasm right? You would still have to purify the tap water as most the treatment plants are off line during and following these deals. Hell during the floods of 97 our water was on a boil only for a while and no water at all for a bit

I took it as run the tap water into containers now before they are contaminated.

I dont know what to think - but with both of these disasters houston and florida --- thats not going to help with the lower the taxes campaign. Worries me with the economy too. Itey have built up so big along the coasts --- more so low areas -- areas where nobody should of been allowed to build. The banks, citys, ins company are convinced that the govt will pick up the bill i guess. No different then around here. This could be the big one storm wise and if ---- Korea sends over a nuke that would take the cake.
