Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe these government grants have to be paid back by whomever accepts them at a low interest rate. The trouble is they usually come with the stipulation that whomever gets the grant has to kick in a certain amount( I believe the amount that the grant is for, is what they have to kick in) also. The city of Minot eats these things up like candy. Now they are going to build a community meet and greet place downtown to the tune of 6 million (or more) by the time they get it built. Don't we already have the auditorium, 2 bigger parks and several littler ones that aren't utilized enough the way it is. They are always asking for money for the flood project and just recently they came out looking for money for a new city hall and something else to go into the same building but I cant remember what, at the starting sum of 10 million. Spend, spend and spend some more its a never ending story.
