I am very curious what was the illegal information that was in that thread, was it the adding a little more spray to the mixture than it says on the label? If so i would think they have a lot bigger fish to fry with people spraying thousands of acres, then a few guys on a web forum spraying there yards. Thanks for letting us know what/why happened to the thread though Vollmer. Could a loophole be made with a statement on the forum/website that all post/information on the website is for entertainment purposes only?

There were a couple herbicides not labeled for turf application that's why the dept of Ag said to pull it would be my guess. Just because it works doesn't mean you can use it still has to have a label for it. Wide match is not labeled for turf apps I know that one works to kill dandelions but not labeled so you can't use it for turf application. I think curtail is the same way. Labeled for pasture weed control but not lawns. They don't take off label applications lightly.

Dumb or not, I respect how this situation has been handled. Though that could be the dandelion tea talking.

Vollmer, sorry for the trouble I caused with the topic. I really meant how do you control dandelions in my pasture next to my house. The way it's growing I really should graze it.

I wonder if it was about some of the chems that guys were using that you need a license/registration (what ever farmers need these days) to use. That's one thing I made sure of when getting my spray, no paper work needed.

IMHO, thanks Vollmer for protecting the guys on here, hate to see somebody get fined for something they shared on here!

So I have pasture that borders my crop land and them dang yellow flowers are growing like crazy in it and spreading into the crop. Can I start a new thread and ask all licensed applicators to chime in on how to control them?:;: But not really. Vollemer props to you for dealing with this and letting us no what's going on not bashing you it's aimed at the guy that contacted you. That guy needs to get his picture taken and added to the D.......BAGofgrocieries alert thread

Too bad he was obviously too busy to clarify exactly what posts/methods were the illegal ones. Might have been helpful.

Yup, be nice if he was more specific to which post were a no no instead of just saying some posts are of illegal nature regarding the use or recommendations. Something tells me he's not a member of NDA since he emailed Vollmer and more of a troll abusing his job title thru a website, but kiddos to Vollmer for giving us all a heads up on the matter.

FWIW, I think you made the right decision to pull the topic Vollmer.

I think there needs to be a few lay offs where this guy works if his days consist of browsing internet forums looking for people potentially misshandling dandelion spray.

I am guessing the guy is a member, or at least a visitor of the site, saw a thread that was in his line of work, began to read through it. He then made a decision to email V and let him know some of the advice was not good advice. Where he failed is his talking tough, and trying to be the big deal he likely is not.

I personally hate confrontation and would have done exactly what V did. No sense in pushing things to the next level. Sometimes these little weenies can get rather riled up and make a big deal out of nothing.

I agree that his tone/language seem extreme.

Anybody ever hear of a non-commercial person (homeowner/shmoe) being prosecuted for not following pesticide labels and/or "making false recommendations" on an internet forum? Does that really happen? i.e. is he really doing someone a favor?

Just sprayed some leafy spurge and russian thistle last night. Me recommendation is labeled for general non-crop farmland and turf.
