I agree with the first part, make it much harder to bring a damn gun into the school and protect the building like Fort Knox. However, I'd argue we should make it easier to get out. Kids trapped in a classroom during an active shooter scenario is a recipe for disaster.To me school's should have the same security as a damn military base. Make it nearly impossible to get in or out. The problem I'm sure is funding, so many schools out there.
Maybe we need doors connecting classrooms to safely move away from danger without being seen, exit slides for upper stories, impenetrable doors from hallways, or other ways to get out quickly. I understand it would take funding, but so do tanks and aid to Ukraine, illegal immigrants, and countless other endeavors our government shouldn't be part of.....
Last I heard, we as a nation aren't reproducing at nearly the rate we used to. Kids are even MORE precious than the gold protected at Fort Knox. Maybe we should treat them as such.
