Had a semi pull out in front of me the other day there. I was going north and he was coming from the west and turning north. I was passing a semi in the passing lane and he pulled out in front of me(i was doing speed limit). I locked them up and went left into the medium, if i wouldnt have i probably wouldnt be typing this..... i believe alot has to do with the people driving...did he not see me? Even so why the hell would you pull out with another semi rolling through there at highway speed? There was nobody behind us and would have allowed plenty of time to turn onto 83. Alot of bad drivers in my opinion...

Agree. Why were you passing at an intersection???
So i should not pass on a double lane highway? I should yield to a semi driver turning onto this double lane highway...jeezus. lets just assume i am not from here...how the F would a person from out of state even know avout this intersection? I am trying to figure out where i violated a law...wasnt speeding had daylight running lamps on. I was in the passing lane way prior to this location(zero blinkers on)...yet you see me doing something wrong..thats some funny shit right there..next time i will have to make sure to yeild on a double lane highway for a guy who violates the law.....jeezus

Vehicles coming from the south are tough to see until they crest the hill and they get to the intersection pretty quick. Those of us that travel it alot know what to expect, and you can look south when sitting on the west side to see how much traffic is coming. It does help. The accidents there, are caused by lack of paying attention to what is going on. Not the terrain

I dont travel this route often maybe one time every few years. Knowing what i know now I would definetly drive more cautiously through there. What i seen was an impatient driver trying to get on a highway....

A couple weeks ago I drove through the heart of the Bakken and back on a road trip. I was good with the traffic during daylight hours but after dark was a whole different story. Most of them wouldn't dim the headlights . The pickups with blue headlights and light bars were just as bad if not worse than the truckers.

like said in a post earlier, you cannot fix stupid driver that don't pay attention, we are doweling out money because drivers don't understand how to drive, driven that highway many times as most of you have, passed through the accident that happened this past fall. I'd be curious about the drivers that were involved in the accident, if they didn't know how that intersection works as being the first time they have passed through that area or were frequent travelers that been through there.
I always look down road when approaching that area if I'm traveling south to bismarck and watch the right were 23 comes to intersection, you can tell if a dumb nut going too fast and not going to stop and etc. Guess I'm saying if you are traveling south you have to be the defensive driver in that area, cover your own ass and watch for the other drivers.

I agree with bringing the two lanes together and have an overpass coming off 23 to merge south or north....not that hard to figure out, too bad they have too worry about the cost, if its going to save a life like they want it to or if safety is the main concern.....then cost shouldn't even be an issue the state has wasted more money on other stupid road projects so why should it matter.
my two cents
Don’t know about the guy but the gal is a habitual speeder and doesn’t carry proof of insurance, One being 21-25 over limit.
