Sure think that would boost sales.
Only if your a low mileage person. I put 40k a year on my truck, it's not gonna sway me in the slightest. and if your buying a diesel, the engines already have a 100k mile warranty. I run out of miles long before years.

They need a warranty like that... the next problem is the local service dept. Here in Bis they are about like Ford.. horrible!

Read this again: "What we determined, though, was that the perceived value from the customer outweighs what our increased cost is going to be."

In other words, a longer warranty is not worth the cost. Yes, he used the term "our" in there suggesting the company was going to eat the cost, but when has that ever happened in real life? Just like every other manufacturer, they will run the numbers and adjust the price of the vehicles accordingly.

FWIW. I have had 8 new/used 1/2 ton trucks since 1981. 5 Chevy 3 Ford never had the need for to use the factory warranty. Call me Lucky! Anything major was done by a trusted small shop. However very little out of pocket expense. I always kept on top of all maintenance.

Bought the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty unlimited mileage on my 17 ram 2500 work truck for around 4,000. Have not used it yet but with me I typically run a vehicle for 15 plus yrs and with this one will run until it gets wrecked or dies.

Extremely lucky! I have used it multiple times.

I still have my 2015 F-150 5.0 with 130,000 on it and so far all Ive changed is the oil, tires, 1 set of brake pads, and the drivers seat cover. it still looks and drives new, not looking forward to the day I have to buy a new one with all the added electronic BS on it.

Anyone run one of these devices on their GM 5.3? Pretty cheap on Amazon today. Wondering if it would help lessen the chances of lifter and cam failure.

I run one, different brand. They say it doesn’t solve the issue but who knows. It’s worth their lifters or transmission on them, it sucks.
