I'm looking at possibly getting a fish done this year and was looking for some recommendations. I've heard nothing but good things about Risovi and Schumann taxidermy when it comes to replicas. I'm new to the replica scene so any input is appreciated.

I don't do walleye replicas, just skin mounts. Risovis your man. His walleye replicas are some of the best I've seen, maybe even the best, and I'm pretty sure he's in North Dakota

My first and PB years back walleye,34.5"s 13.6lbs,horseshit rep, seems they didn't have a blank that large so mine has a walleye body with a shitty paint job,aa steelhead square tail
.pissed away $350.

Had big rep crappies done turned out great, reps dont dry out and crack like skin mounts down the road

Goodluch on a PB and replica

Just a heads up, any half assed walleye replica is gonna be waaay more than 350 btw. The blank, materials, and shipping will cost the taxidermist more than that nowadays. I don't know what you're expecting, but be ready for sticker shock

Agreed, pretty sure my rep was 20yrs ago all done hangin wall mounts at my place dang near every north American fresh water fish from alaska varieties Salmon to lower 48 stream and lake species, musky and big pike were/are break the bank species due to length $$ per inch. Think pickling.

Got 2 eyes mounted, about 15 and 20 yrs ago. Basically dust collectors in my office, nobody sees them. Would never do another mount.

Yes just too expensive, good pictures at my old age works great, kinda like what my dad did our whole live hunting he had a really nice 35 mm camera he bought over seas and he would have pictures put on slides and roll out projector screen once year and look at all hunts sure was fun. Now we film and take pictures and never look at it again just like when kids grew up.

What's the price of a walleye replica these days compared to a skin mount?
