East end lake Sakakawea walleye fishing

The only thing better about the East end is there's waaay less people. And if your net moves, you usually won't have a dozen boats buzzing around you. There's no "hot" time of year out there, it's inconsistent. But many walleyes are caught on that end of the lake.

    Keeping fish alive

YouTube will give you better instructions, but you basically insert the needle into the belly to release air pressure built up in the swim bladder, so they can right themselves in the livewell.

    Keeping fish alive

I bleed em out in one live well for 15-20 minutes, then throw them on ice in the other live well. - - - Updated - - - Warm water doesn't hold oxygen as efficiently as cold water does. Try running your livewell on recirc and fill the whole time you have fish in it. Alot of guys don't for fear...

Post a Photo of Your (4) Leg Companion

This is my boy Bob, a Sumatran water monitor, mildly venomous, super curious, and loves people food more than an indoor lab. First pic is shortly after I got him, slightly larger than a hatchling. Next pic is after a year to a year and a half. He loves the pool (water monitor) and roaming...

    Sandy flesh walleyes

I cleaned my first walleye with sand flesh (myofibrogranuloma) last week. I caught it in the tailrace, and seen another one my uncle caught on sakakawea this spring. How common is it? Any one know what causes it, or how it's transferred?

    Catfish

Similar to walleye, but stay above the rib cage and gut cavity. No bones, just fillet off the skin and trim off all the dark meat. The best bait is a half smelt on a circle hook with a flat or pyramid weight a foot or two above it. Fish off the blocks at the boat ramp, around the wingwalls...

    Rust removal and trailer help

When I restored my boat trailer I used a long tube sprayer to coat the inside with rust Mort, a type of acid that converts and seals the rust.

    Rust removal and trailer help

Use a blow gun to remove the dust, then a rag with alcohol or wax n grease remover. I usually just use a blowgun because a rag will snag on the rough metal and leave fuzz n shit on the metal. - - - Updated - - - One med-heavy coat of epoxy, then 2 coats of you desired paint.

    Rust removal and trailer help

That flap disc will do well, perhaps just sandblast the inside corners where you can't get to with the other tools. Your little compressor should be fine for a few small spots. But once it's stripped, get it coated asap with something. A 2 part epoxy primer would be best. That raw exposed...

    Stocking fish

Pike are a good candidate for fun easy to catch fish when other species won't do well. In my experience with perch, if there isn't already a healthy population naturally, stocking usually won't improve things. Not sure what factors on a body of water are good for bluegill n crappie.
