    DIY Gear Projects

They are custom cut to the length of your cooler bottom so they don't slide around. I've made them and they are pretty handy. Same thing as milk jugs but more durable.

    DIY Gear Projects

I think the harder paint chips easier too. I've been sticking the point of a hook through the eye when the paint is still wet and pulling out the paint plug .If you time it right it all comes out and you won't have to use and eye cleaner. Jigs at Scheels are 0.75/each now. I can crank out $150...

    DIY Gear Projects

I made a fluid bed, and still have it, but I don't use it. I don't notice any difference between using it or just dipping the hot jig in the powder. I do have to fluff the powder every 10 jigs or so. I don't bake mine anymore either. I put the eyes on with those itty-bitty sponge brushes they...

    It's a soaker

Just talked to father in law he is 3 blocks away...his gauge is overflowing at 2.5".

    It's a soaker

In NE Bismarck we were at .60 at about 3pm. Haven't been home to check the gauge since. I can tell you Hay Creek was running bank full and lots of street flooding along Divide and south Bismarck.

    Fish Guts

Curious what everyone does with their fish guts if you clean fish at home, particularly if you live in town. Mine go into the freezer until the morning of garbage pickup and then they go into the trash frozen. Anyone doing something better?

    First time GPS buyer

I'm cheap like you. I have one similar to this. Don't remember what my model is, I bought it 5-6 years ago. I bought a ram mount for the boat and it works great for running the river, ice fishing or whatever. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003IHV6Z0/?tag=nodakangler10-20

Repacking Trailer Bearings - How Often?

Use Timken bearings. Keep them greased. Check for heat and looseness. Don't forget to inspect the inside seal from time to time. Repack and inspect mine every other year and never had an issue.

    Ghille Suits

Is there a difference between the synthetic leaf type vs the yarn/string looking ones when it comes to burs? I wouldn't think the synthetic leaves would be too bad. I don't think the synthetic leaf ones look as good though.

I wondered about that being an issue.

    Ghille Suits

Typically before bow season I allow myself one upgrade or purchase for the season. Typically around $200. Contemplating a ghillie suit for this year. Wondering how they work with mosquitos, how hot are they, how durable...blah, blah, blah

    Wild

I feel terrible for Parise. He is such a talent and hard worker but is surrounded by a bunch of slacker former Gophers. Vanek, Ballard, Haula and Leopold all were standouts at U of M. Look at them now, Vanek is one of the laziest players on the Wild team, time after time he gets caught not...

    STUPID Midcontinent

No...stupid midco. What type of organization sends their staff out at o-dark-thirty to work on cable TV? Post card or not they are asking for trouble. That kind of activity needs to go out on the runner at the bottom of the TV screen for a week ahead of time. I would have held them at...

    STUPID Midcontinent

I would follow up with Midco. Them doing a service call at that hour is bizarre. Their employees take those trucks home, what's to say they weren't using Midco as a cover for their other activities.

    Wind and Rain?

I usually clean my shop and then I always have 9mm and .223 to reload. Clean garbage out of the boat.

    Is backtrolling a lost art?

That went away with the invention of the electric trolling motor. It had to be done because the boat went slower with the gas motor. - - - Updated - - - BTW we are all dating ourselves. All the young kids are going WTF is backtrolling?

    Polarized Sunglasses

They all fit different and the lenses are all different as well. Go to a dealer and try several pairs on, take them outside on a sunny day and then shop online for a deal. - - - Updated - - - Just make sure you go with a quality brand.
