Just need a bit more info before I answer.
What kind of gopher?
How long has it been dead?
Where was it laying and at what temp?
Did the cat bite any of the backstraps or hinds?
Thanks!
BS!! The way you grunted each time you hefted a hind quarter up that hill and the number of stops I had to make on my trips up, I'd have sworn you would get close to a hundo more than that. You must've made some steaks or something. Please tell my you made some steaks. Otherwise my weight...
Had raw venison LOTS of times and tiger meat nearly as many times and I'm still here. Never had a single issue with it ever. The secret is to use your own deer and make it yourself. I tend to avoid the backstraps for this though. They are too close to the gut cavity and you just never know...
Still messing around with my spear shack. Shelves, decoy hangers, flooring, etc. Don't trust ANY of the ice yet, so I won't be trying it out anytime soon. Guess I'll just have to chase roosters and snare coyotes for awhile. (Grin)
ND manages for hunter opportunity per the ND G&F publications, and the best opportunity to harvest deer is during the rut when deer movement during daylight hours is at it's peak. Moving rifle season would NOT be in the interest of maximizing hunter opportunity. The End!!!
Great Post Bckhntr!! Unfortunately, the "One Taggers" aren't interested in numbers, facts, and science. They don't even accept that the G&F admitted a one tag system has no basis other than social and won't improve anything. They're just mad they didn't get a tag and the landowners, bow...
I vacuum my mounts using the small round bristle attachment when I notice they need it. I use windex on the eyes CAREFULLY and if needed I use a small amount of soap in water to wipe off the nose, lips, and antlers. I have also used pressured air every year or so to blow out the dug in dust...
I'm sorry you feel that way DM. I truly am. However, deer hunting isn't the problem IMO. Deer hunting is the same as it's always been. The anticipatory nervousness before a hunt is the same. The thrill of seeing deer is the same. The smiles from successful hunters are the same as are most...
HaHaHaha!!! Pretty good whine for your 3rd post. Of course it's MY fault when you know absolutely nothing about me. THANK YOU for illustrating my point.
I do everything from field to fridge myself. Come to think of it, I do lots of gutting, skinning, and other stuff for other folks as well. I just like to mess with deer I guess. I've seen, tasted, and heard about too many unfortunate incidents from meat lockers that I don't trust the finished...
Davey, if you do a search on NDA, you will come up with at least 3 years of "Discussion" on this topic that will contain the same "Broken Record" arguments for a one tag system. This topic has been discussed to death and the one tag system has been shown to be lacking in all areas. So, other...
Oh for "F" Sakes!!!!! I'm so sick and tired of cry babies bringing this topic up every fricken year!!!! The system is just fine the way it is. It works and needs no adjustments. Everyone has the same chance of drawing a tag. LEAVE IT ALONE!!! Here's a thought, instead of whining about what...
NO to party hunting. Is hunting about the hunt or the KILL??? Seems to me a large number of folks who like party hunting are probably more interested in killing more deer instead of HUNTING for deer. More negative aspects of party hunting in an open habitat like ND than there are positives...
