    How high up in the trees. Way up in the branches it nearly has to be porcupines. I have seen small willows etc debarked ten feet up by rabbits and even mice when snowbanks get real high.

    I can't remember which gun I bought first a lever action Marlin 22 or my 870, but both were in 1971. I did cut the barrel down to 23 inches and threaded it for chokes. I got the chokes for $6 on sale, but I picked a type hard to find now. I guess I have six chokes so don't need new ones...

    Yes, my 6.5 X 284 Norma will push the 140 Berger at 2980fps and keep five shots under .3 inches. Creedmoor is down around 2740fps. The 6.5 X 284 is factory Cooper.
