I don't think he was asking for any specific spots. Just the type of area that you usually look. What types of trees, soil, etc.? River bottoms, near cottonwoods, ash, oak, etc.? I've got access to a bunch of private river bottom property but would like to learn a little more about the type of area(s) that they grow in.

They are a different texture and taste then other mushrooms. I think the fact that they are harder to find and only around for a short time makes them more desirable.
Maybe I'll have to bring Rowdy out there for some bird/ shroom hunting.
